A new plugin, called “Humanizer”, has been developed that uses the same 24 language and formatting patterns identified by Wikipedia editors to make AI-generated text appear more natural and human-written.
The plugin feeds large language models like Claude with the list of patterns, effectively ‘humanizing’ the output by removing or altering AI-specific writing cues.
Background and Purpose
Wikipedia’s guide was originally created to help readers detect AI-generated content. However, it has now been ironically adopted by AI tools to help them mimic human writing styles and avoid detection.
Since AI chatbots are trained on human writing—including content from Wikipedia editors—the guide provides a valuable reference for both human readers and AI systems.
